IS MY MEMBERSHIP TRANSFERABLE IF I RELOCATE TO ANOTHER LOCATION WITH A LOCAL CHAPTER?

  • Yes, your National membership is transferable within NAAAHR chapters.  Just contact the national office via email and/or telephone call to request a chapter transfer.  The national office will make the change free of charge.

ARE THERE ANY TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES FOR MEMBERS?

  • Most of the training opportunities are available on a local level, however, as a New Jersey member, you will also receive updates for webinars that are sponsored and marketed by other chapters.  Many chapters are seeking approval for HRCI credits.  Both the national office and local chapters will sponsor webinars that may receive HRCI credit approval. Also, national conference attendees have the opportunity to receive HRCI credits for approved sessions.

IS THERE A FEE TO ATTEND LOCAL CHAPTER MEETINGS AND EVENTS?

  • Most local chapters offer free or reduced admission to paid NAAAHR members, but each chapter is different.  Some will provide light meals and/or snacks and/or key speakers requiring a fee. New Jersey meet-ups are free unless a meal is planned for in-person events.

IF I REFER SOMEONE TO NAAAHR, IS THERE SOME TYPE OF REWARD SYSTEM FOR REFERRALS?

  • No, we don’t have a referral reward system in place at this time. Some chapters, including NAAAHR New Jersey, will  “shine a spotlight” on members who are doing great work in their profession of choice, in their community, or to support the development of a more junior HR professional or a student. (This is not an all-inclusive list of actions/activities that might result in a member being “spotlighted.”)

HOW DO I ACCESS THE NJ CHAPTER MEMBER PORTAL TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF CURRENT HR NEWS, LEARNING MATERIALS, JOB POSTINGS, BUSINESS-TO-BUSINESS INFORMATION, ETC.?

  • If you are a current member who has listed New Jersey as your chapter, you will be able to access the Member Portal.

HOW OFTEN DOES THE NAAAHR HOST CONFERENCES FOR ALL MEMBERS TO GET TOGETHER ON A NATIONAL LEVEL?

  • It really depends on the needs of our members, the economy, and the HR profession.  National hosts bi-annual conferences, but regional chapters also host conferences, which will be announced on the NAAAHR New Jersey website.

NETWORK

DEVELOP PERSONALLY

DEVELOP PROFESSIONALLY

Connect with other HR professionals in the area so you feel connected. The environment is comfortable enough to discuss work challenges, exchange ideas for personal and professional growth and connect in a supportive space with people whose experiences and perspectives are different from your own. And p.s. we know how to have fun!

Each chapter is operated independently, allowing them to bring in subject matter experts who focus on industry trends for their respective geographic areas.

Chapters expose members to speakers focused on finance, money management, job search, investments, legal updates, and other areas that empower and strengthen our members and professional partnerships thanks to our alliances with the NJ Chapter of the Black MBA Association and the Garden State Bar Association.
